Importing to Microsoft Expression Media 2

Import all your online assets to Expression Media 2*

With Media Edition R3 (starting with version 3.0.6), you can import any or all of your online photo albums into Microsoft Expression Media 2*

Why is this useful

If you are beginning to use Microsoft Expression Media 2*, but already have your photos online with any of the supported sites, this provides you with a quick way of replicating your online album sets on your local computer to manage them with Expression Media 2*.

How

When you are browsing your (photos only) albums in NitroDesk, right click on any album you want to catalog in Expression Media 2* and select the "Create Expression Media 2 Catalog..." option in the context menu.

To download your entire assets from your online account, right click on the "Albums" (or Galleries/Photosets) item in the catalog tree.

You will then be prompted to specify a folder where you want to create the catalog.

Once you have specified the location, NitroDesk will then proceed to download all the original photos from the album you selected and save them at the location specified. At the end of the process, you will find an xml file at the specified location, which you can then directly import into Expression Media 2 using the File/Import From XML... option in the main menu.

Now you have a local copy of your online albums, which you can then manage, organize and tag.

Note that once you have copied your albums over, the changes you make through Expression Media 2* are restricted to the local copy and will not be propagated back to your online album.
